A Travel Guide for the Week
We are excited to celebrate with you in Ericeira, a seaside town an hour outside of Lisbon.
Travel Information
Flying to Lisbon
The closest airport is Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport. Common travel hubs offering direct flights to Lisbon include New York, Boston, DC, SF, London, and Madrid.
We recommend booking flights early for the best availability and prices.
Getting from Lisbon to Ericeira
If you are arriving early, the easiest options are renting a car or taking an Uber from the airport. Taxis and Ubers cost approximately $50–$70.
A direct bus is also available from Lisbon (about 1.5 hours) for a budget-friendly option.
If you are getting in on the 17th, we plan to arrange transportation for those who need it, upon request. If you would use this service, please indicate as such in your RSVP and make sure to fill out the travel information form below.
What to Pack
Weather in Ericeira in June is warm and pleasant (highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 60s), and Aethos Ericeira is just a short walk from the beach. Here's a quick overview of things to pack:

Hotel Rooms
Accommodations will be provided at Aethos Ericeira, so you don't need to worry about booking your own hotel room. When you check in at the front desk of Aethos, they'll tell you what room you'll be in.
Getting Around
Aethos is about a 15 minute drive north of the Ericeira town center. Ubers and taxis are available to pick you up from the hotel and take you to town or other nearby spots you'd like to explore.
If you'd like more flexibility to visit nearby towns and sites, rental cars are available at the airport or in Ericeira.

We've got answers.
What does "elevated coastal" mean?
Think beachy, but polished. Light fabrics and earthy neutrals are encouraged, but please wear what you are comfortable and confident in. Sundresses, linen, flowy skirts, lightweight suits, and dressy sandals all fit. We only ask that you avoid wearing black or neon colors. Please check "the wedding weekend" page for more specific dress codes for each event!
When do I need to RSVP?
Please RSVP by April 15th. When responding, please ensure that all invited guests that will be in attendance are noted as such in the RSVP.
Do I need to book or reserve a hotel room?
Nope! Accommodations are complimentary for all of our guests. You just need to check in at the front desk of Aethos, and they'll tell you what room you'll be in.
Will there be shuttles from the airport to the venue?
Yes! We are planning on providing shuttles to Aethos Ericeira on June 17th. If you are interested in taking a shuttle, please click the button below to fill out a form with your flight information.
Please note, we will not be providing a shuttle from Aethos to the airport on June 20th, so you'll need to find your own transportation to Lisbon or wherever you're headed next!
What time is check in and check out?
You can check into your room at 3 PM on Wednesday, June 17th. If you'd like to come earlier, you are more than welcome to drop your bags off at the front desk and head out to explore the hotel or Ericeira - you just won't be able to get into your room until after 3 PM.
Check out is at 12 PM on Saturday, June 20th. After the farewell breakfast, you'll just need to make sure you're packed up and out of your room by noon.
Can we bring our kids?
Yes! We would love for your kids to join us at all events - including the ceremony. However, please know that there will be no childcare and Aethos does not have cribs available. So if you're traveling with a baby, please plan accordingly.
Which meals are provided during the wedding week?
There is complimentary breakfast every day from 9 am - 12 pm, and dinner will be provided the 17th, 18th, and 19th. You'll just have to get lunch or snacks yourself - either at the hotel, one of the nearby restaurants, or in the town of Ericeira.
What should I expect at the welcome dinner?
Think casual and relaxed. We'll be kicking things off poolside with a cookout and plenty of hearty hors d'oeuvres. Come ready to hang and unwind after travel. Weather permitting, we’ll be taking a post-dinner swim!
What should I expect at the rehearsal dinner?
Think beachy but chic. We’ll be indoors, with a sit down dinner and open bar (menu to come). The night will kick off with a few words from Rach & Andrew, followed by an open-mic moment for anyone feeling inspired.
What should I expect the day of the wedding?
The day will begin with a coffee cart (available from 1:30 - 4:30) and time to gather as a group before heading into a short outdoor ceremony. Afterward, we’ll move into cocktail hour with a live band and a few fun, personal touches from Rach & Andrew, followed by dinner. As the sun sets, we’ll head to the beach, and the night will wrap up with drinks and games.
What will we be doing in between events?
Whatever you want! The venue has surfing, hiking, biking, and climbing at or within walking distance. Rach & Andrew will let everyone know what they are doing each day, but no pressure to join!

Can we take photos during the ceremony?
We ask that phones are kept away during the ceremony. Our photographer, Eunice, will take photos of the ceremony. Rach & Andrew will join everyone during the cocktail hour where we will spend time getting photos with everyone!
